the caddy rectangular, engraved with initials MC in foliate reserve flanked by crossed palms, hinged flat-domed cover with pinecone finial, base with maker's mark only and engraved weight 12=6, William and Aaron Lestourgeon, London, circa 1770; the sugar bowl of slightly bellied form with applied gadrooned borders, body and cover with matching initials, pinecone finial, marked on base of bowl and cover, Edward Aldridge, London, 1770; fitted in fishskin-covered wood box lined in red velvet accentuated by gilt metal braided cording, silver handle and mount engraved to match

engraved initials circa 1775, caddy with traces of tin lining at angles, one angle repaired behind, the back angle now splitting, traces of original engaving, case with a few missing pins
