the tureen of bombĂ© form with applied gadrooned rim, raised on four leafy scroll supports headed by foliage and flowers  with leaf-capped reeded loop handles springing from grape leaves, engraved with arms on both sides, the stepped dome cover engraved with mermaid crest and with ring finial formed as two serpents emerging from leaves

as noted re later handles and feet, finial unmarked also later, engraving circa 1837; oval patch below finial on cover
