Ce beau spécimen de Cimolichthys nepaholica est indubitablement très rare. C'était un prédateur très rapide des mers du continent américain lors du Crétacé tardif. Les connaisseurs noteront bien entendu l'extraordinaire conservation du spécimen qui permet d'observer de nombreux détails. L'animal est disposé sur un panneau mural dans une position qui semble le placer dans une quête interminable de quelques proies.
Condition
Encadrement en bon état. Petit éclat sur le haut du côté gauche. Le fossile placé de manière gracile et naturelle (position originale) est replacé sur une matrice à base de plâtre. Ce procédé est systématique pour les poissons du Kansas car la matrice originelle ne peut pas de conserver dans le temps une fois sortie du sol. Il n'existe aucun poisson du Kansas sans ce type de préparation.
Frame in good condition. Small knock on the upper left side. The fossil naturally placed (original position) is replaced on a plaster matrix. This process is systematic for fishes from Kansas because the original matrix can not be well preserved in times once out of the ground. No other kind of preparation exists for fishes from Kansas.
