Description

  • German, circa 1880
  • Deer bone, beechwood, brass and iron
  • 45.5cm. 18in. high
5-inch dial with ivorine numerals and bone hands, weight-driven posted wood movement flanked by the bellows, the chalet case applied with carved oak leaves and acorns, the door opening to reveal a brightly coloured carved bird

Condition

Movement is much in need of a clean but was running in the house, bellows repaired, gong and hammer lacking. Varnished case much in need of a clean and with minor scuffs throughout. With pendulum and two odd fir cone weights.
