10-inch silvered dial signed Thomas Grignon, London in the shallow ogee arch, the outer minute ring enclosing seconds dial and hours sector, the substantial 8-day movement with eight latched and knopped pillars, eight wheel train with unusual large pinions, the wheels screwed to their collets and with end plates to all possible pivots, dead beat escapement with jewelled pallets, bolt and shutter maintaining power, stop work, the whole enclosed by glazed dust shutters, mercury pendulum suspended from a bar traversing the movement, the case with scroll cresting, canted corners, glazed trunk door revealing a beat plaque, panelled plinth, the whole veneered with well figured wood and with ebony mouldings throughout

Dial and movement in generally good original condition throughout but much in need of a clean. Case has minor losses to the moulding and rather faded, crack to base of trunk door, other old minor scuffs and marks throughout. With pendulum (mercury now in separate containers), brass-cased weight, winder and 2 case keys.
