Catalogue Note
In 1984 Dr. Daniels was approached by Rolex and visited them in Geneva to dicuss his co-axial escapement.
After being kept waiting for seventeen minutes Dr. Daniels was introduced to the chief technician and the production technician. Dr. Daniels felt the time he was kept waiting was the height of arrogance and therefore recounted this in his autobiography.
For a description of Dr. Daniels visit to Rolex in 1984 see George Daniels, All in Good Time, p.91-92.
The present lot was one of the six watches used in Dr. Daniels Co-Axial escapement model at Basel fair. For a further note on the model see lot 22.
