in a leather box, comprising an agate needlecase, French, early 19th century, tube form, doublé mounts, 10.5cm, 4 1/8 in ; a gold pendent vinaigrette of book form chased with foliate ornament, the grille as a flower basket, J.F. Marcillac, Paris, circa 1810, 2.5cm, 1in ; and a silver-gilt vinaigrette, each side inlaid with a tortoiseshell panel with scrolled gold piqué decoration, Paris, 1819-1838, 3cm, 1 1/4 in ; an ivory and black silk and lace parasol, three buckles, a pair of binoculars in purse, a lighter, a shagreen match box, two metal hair combs, a small circular ivory carved portrait pendant frame in a circular ivory fretwork box, a small oval container, a quantity of handkerchiefs including three white lace monogrammed handkerchiefs, CP, CorS T, and crowned CD, a square small cover, with whitework CTA,  a plain pulled work linen dressing table cover (43 by 26cm), a small quantity of black lace, dress trimming lengths, a large shawl (172 by 172cm) small black lace handkerchief, and 13 fans:  



A French bone fan, circa 1780, the guards and sticks pierced, carved, gilded and silvered with an urn of flowers bordered with coloured paillons, the fabric leaf painted with a musical trophy and flowers picked out with paillons and gold stitchwork, paste rivet , in a tooled green leather case, 16.7cm long, With paper saying "cet eventail m'a ete  donne par mon oncle de Durfort, il est dans la grande vitrine en glace du salon" ;  A mourning fan, circa 1900, stained wood guards and sticks, fabric loops, the suspension loop hung with tassels, carved with little notch, wooden rivet with ring handle and a paper case, 24.5cm long ; A wood fan, 1873, the black-stained guards and sticks pierced with quatrefoils flowerheads, scrolls and husks, the silk leaf painted with a scene of a young shepherd whispering love secrets to his  lover, signed L. de P. 1873, associated case, 27cm long ; A French wood fan, circa 1890/1900, the stained guards and sticks with wavy borders, inset with silver paillons, the gauze leaf sewn with silver forming a garland of flowers, suspension loop, 22cm long ; A large wood fan, French?, 20th century, silvered guards and sticks, the gauze leaf painted with a young boy on a swing, black paste rivet and swing loop, in a case, 35cm long ;  A bone and mother-of-pearl Fan, probably French, circa 1815, the guards, with mother of pearl veneer and pierced sticks inlaid with steel spangles, the net leaf similarly embellished, in a case numbered 2, 
16cm long ; A chinese ivory brise fan, circa 1830, pierced and carved with figures among trees and buildings, white ribbon, 19cm long ; A dark-stained mother of pearl fan, circa 1890, One guard applied with monogram CCD below coronet, the black silk leaf sewn with some white lace forming a medaillon painted with chrysanthemum bordered by applied lace, 28cm long ; An oriental bamboo fan, 20th century, The guards and sticks decorated with stylised ornament, pearlised leaf painted with prunus, figures and birds, label "Maison bail, Cotillon, 240 rue de Rivoli", 24cm ; A French bone fan, circa 1830, The guards and sticks inset with steel spangles, the fabric leaf with reserves  sewn with steel spangles ; A French blond tortoiseshell fan, circa 1820, The guards and sticks inset with steel paillons, the net with pierced and quilted foil segments and steel spangles ; A blond horn fan, circa 1865, The guards and sticks decorated with scrolls and roses and inset with paillons, the fabric and net leaf sewn with steel and gilded spangles, suspension loop, 19cm long ; A blond horn tortoiseshell fan circa 1845, The guards and sticks decorated and gilt with scrolls and roses, the gold net leaf overlaid with turquoise silk cut in sunburst strips and sewn with paillons and spangles, 20.5cm long  


Condition

Textiles: generally fair condition. on of white lace monogrammed handkerchiefs, CP (with holes), small black lace handkerchief (damaged). Fans: fan 1: Some losses to silvered and gilt ornament on guards and sticks, the leaf, in spite of being reinforced on the back and edge, with several tears at folds and edge, some paillons missing fan 2: Some very minor staining on leaf but otherwise good condition. fan 3: On guard broken at junction with leaf, otherwise good condition. fan 4: Some losses to paillons Fan 5: Good order, some staining on leaf Fan 6: half of a guard broken and missing, the net with tears and holes, some losses to paillons, one guard curved. Fan 7: one guard detached, some staining and minor lossesto ivory décor, replaced rivet. Fan 8: both guards detached, lace with some staining Fan 9: some splitting. Fan 10 : some losses to spangles, the elf with staining and tears along folds. Fan 11: net detached from one guard, some holds and tears. Fan 12: Some staining to leaf and tearing to net. Fan 13: some spangles missing, wear to gilding on guards, some staining and fading to leaf.
