Catalogue Note
The twelve maps, if placed together, would form a map of the whole of Rome within a decorative frame, measuring almost four square metres. Nolli was concerned to show Rome in its current state, and provides a comprehensive index of buildings and streets, listed rione by rione, according to Benedict XIV's reorganisation of the city in the 1740s.
