Description
- jasper marble, walnut
- 86cm. high, 161cm. wide, 89cm. deep; 2ft. 9¾in., 5ft. 3½in., 2ft. 11in.
with a serpentine jasper top above a pierced frieze centred by a c-scroll and rocaille cartouche flanked by acanthus leaf scrolls on cabriole legs with espagnolette masks on the knees terminating in acanthus carved hoof feet

Condition
In overall good conserved condition. The top is beautiful and slightly lighter in colour with more contrast in the veining than appears in the catalogue illustration. Some minor chips, pitting and infill to the top with some medium sized chips along the rear edge with a large chip to the rear right corner when facing the table which can easily be restored. Feet re-tipped. The dark stain is uneven in places showing lighter wood underneath. Part of the nose is chipped off the the front left mask and there are restorations to the noses of two of the masks and also minor cracks in the face of the others which can easily be filled. Old minor marks, chips and scratches commensurate with age and use generally. The front and side friezes have been strengthened behind with later wooden blocks. The front right leg has a restored break and there are old very minor restorations generally specially to the legs which have been reblocked.
