Condition

The support is flat and stable consisting of two horizontal panels which are secured by a small batten to the reverse. The paint surface is stable under the discoloured varnish wchih is thick and uneven. Some discoloured retouchings are scattered around the paint surface, including along the panel join, as confirmed by UV light, under which some further retouchings flouresce. The painting woudl benefit from a clean and and a new varnish. In a later painted gold wooden frame in fair condition.
