Description
- a still life with various fruits in a basket and on a ledge, flowers in a vase, musical instruments and a monkey with a flute
oil on canvas
Condition
The recent relining is effective if slightly loose, and has not flattened the paint surface which is dirty but appears sound under the discoloured varnish and still has a good volume of paint. Minor discoloured retouchings can be seen with the naked eye, for example under the monkey and in the sky. Inspection under UV light confirms the aforementioned retouchings and points to some further painterly retouchings. Overall in good condition, especially for a painting of its size. Offered in a wooden frame in good condition.
