Catalogue Note

Henri Oswald de La Tour d'Auvergne Lauraguais (nephew of Cardinal Emmanuel Theodose de La Tour d'Auvergne Duc de Bouillon) was born in Barcy (Diocese of Antwerp). The son of Frédéric Maurice, comte d'Auvergne (1642–1707) and Princess Henrietta Francoise von Hohenzollern-Hechingen (1642-1698), he became Archbishop of Tours (1719 - 1721), then Archbishop of Vienna (1721 - 1745) and in 1740 he was made Cardinal.


Charles-Amable de la Tour d'Auvergne Lauraguais, was the brother of Henri-Godefroy-Bernard-Alphonse de La Tour Lauraguais, Ambassador of France and who recieved many medals and orders during his diplomatic career.
