Description

Designed as a butterfly, the sprung wings of carved boulder opal to borders of brilliant-cut diamonds, the body accented with a pear-shaped and an oval cabochon sapphire, the eyes highlighted with circular-cut rubies, French import marks.

Condition

Stamped with gold import marks. Boulder opal displaying matrix, with violetish blue inclusions, Sapphires medium dark blue, eye clean. Rubies purplish red,well matched in colour. Diamonds bright and lively. Well articulated, light scratches to mount. Secure catch to pin. In good condition.
