Condition

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS SERVICE HAS 112 PIECES IN TOTAL NOT 104; THERE ARE ADDITIONAL 8 OVAL PLATTERS IN SIZES (2 PLATTERS 10 ¾-INCH LONG; 2, 13 ¼-INCH; 2, 14 ¼-INCH; 1, 16-INCH; AND 1, 19 ½-INCH) Oval soup tureens and covers: One tureen has four fine short haircracks where the feet join the body of tureen, visible on the interior of the tureen. The same tureen has one handle broken off and restored back and regilt. The other tureen has three minor firing-related haircracks, where the feet join the body of the tureen, one of which has an approximately 2-inch vertical fine haircrack running down the side above it and a minor 2-inch haircrack running vertically along the side above one of the mentioned haircracks. One handle has been off and restored back. One cover has a long forking sprung haircrack running from the rimedge inwards for about 3 inches forking into two forks in two opposite directions for 2 and 3 inches respectively. The longer of the two branches of the crack issues a further 2-inch crack which runs to a point near the center; there is a 1-inch loss along this break on the exterior of the cover. There is an approximate 5 1/2 –inch haircrack running across the top of the lid under one terminus of the handle and three further haircracks to the rimedge approximately 2-1/2 inches or so and minor short ¼ inch haircrack to the rimedge. The second cover has a similar long forking haircrack across the top part of which has been riveted to stabilize it. Handle has been off and restored back. Vegetable dishes and covers: All dishes with some minor occasional wear to the gilding along the edges. One dish has an approximate 4-inch sprung haircrack running from the rimedge down the side to the foot and then forking into two directions for approximately 2 inches. The same dish has another approximately 3-inch haircrack running down the rimedge with an associated tiny chip at the very end of the haircrack on the exterior. The other dish has an approximate 3-1/2-inch haircrack running across one of the floral panels and another one running down vertically one another floral panel for approximately 1-1/2 inches. The two other dishes seem to be in generally good condition apart from some minor wear to the gilding mentioned above. One cover has some wear to the gilding to the gilt foliate details on the exterior; the handle has been off and restored back on with a nail to further stabilize it. There is one further short firing-related haircrack running inwards from the rimedge. Another cover also has the handle restored and regilt, most likely covering a break. The same cover has some wear to the gilding especially on the gilt edges of the floral panels. The third cover has an approximate 1-1/2-inch fine haircrack running inwards from the rimedge and some very minor discolored crazing to one of the floral panels. The forth cover also has some occasional wear to the gilding on the gilt foliate details; there is an approximate 2-inch long haircrack running inwards from the rimedge and two other short haircracks towards the center of the cover, running approximately 2 and 1 inches respectively. Sauce tureens, covers and stands: One sauce tureen has one of its handles broken away, with only the lion-head termini remaining on the body. The other sauce tureen has a long haircrack running down the rim edge vertically until the mid-point of the side of the tureen and then horizontally in both directions, which further forks into another curving short haircrack at both ends. The same tureen has one of its handles broken and glued back. The third tureen has a sprung haircrack running down the rimedge to the mid-point of the side and then horizontally with further shorter haircracks issuing from it; there is an associated very small chip to the rimedge where the sprung crack starts. The forth sauce tureen has some minor crazing and some discoloration to the interior. There is a firing-related ¼-inch haircrack running down the rimedge; there is also some wear to the gilding along the rimedge. The same sauce tureen has additionally a very small chip to the edge of the one of the paw feet. One cover is broken into multiple pieces and riveted back; the same cover also has the handle broken off and riveted back. The second cover has the handle broken off and glued back with associated chipping to the lion-head termini of the handle; there is also a starcrack running in the center, visible in the interior, around where the handle is set. Moreover this cover has a minuscule chip to the rimedge where the curved opening for the spoon is. The third cover has the handle broken and restored back with associated chipping to the lion-head termini of the handle. The forth cover seems to be in generally good condition. One stand has 1-1/2-inch haircrack on its base running alongside above the foot. The other three stands seem to be in generally good condition. 19-1/2-inch oval patter: has an extended riveted haircrack running from the rim edge to the foot and across the base to just beyond the foot on the other side. There is some minor wear to the gilding along the edges. 16-inch oval platter: There is an extended haircrack running horizontally halfway around the cavetto area and extending in to places up to the rim. Two 14 ¼-inch oval platters: appear to be in generally good condition. Two 13 ¼-inch oval platters: One appears to be in generally good condition. The other has an extended sprung haircrack running from the rimedge to the foot and across the base of the platter. Two 10 ¾-inch oval platters: One appears to be in generally good condition. The other has an extended riveted haircrack running all the way around the cavetto area and running up the rim at two places. Square shaped bowl: There is some wear to the gilding along the rimedge. There is a Y-shaped haircrack just below one of the floral panels running down beyond the foot of the base. Otherwise in generally good condition. Dinner plates: Some occasional wear to the gilding and/or discoloration. 19 are in generally good condition. 3, each has a minor small rimchip. 2, each has a larger rimchip. 6, each has a long haircrack either running across the center or from the rim to the center. 2, each has a minor short haircrack to the rim. One has a sprung haircrack to the rimedge issuing further haircracks. One has a haircrack to the rim and a starcrack to the center. 4, each has large riveted repairs. 5, each has several haircracks to the rim and/or center. 4, each has a chip and one or more haircracks to the rim; one extends across the footrim. Soup plates: Three are in generally good condition. Two, each with a short haircrack to the rim. One with a sprung haircrack to the rim and three further starcracks to the center. One plate has a minor small rimchip. Another plate has two minuscule rimchips and an extended haircrack running from the rim and around the cavetto area. Side plates: Some occasional wear to the gilding. Twelve plates are in generally good condition. One plate has a haircrack running from the rim to and across the center. One plate has some discolored crazing.
