each reserved on one side with a panel painted with courtly figures in a landscape and on the other with a colorful flower arrangement within gilt borders; the trumpet-shaped neck, the lower body and the square base enhanced with gilt foliate devices or putti and affixed on either side with an elaborate ram's head handle.

Condition

Both vases have some minor typical rubbing to the gilding particularly on the plinths and around the foot of each vase. There has been some retouching to the gilding around the rim on one vase. There is a very fine haircrack running from the bottom of the upper section of the same vase upwards for about 2 inches and curves around running horizontally under one handle. There is a second very fine vertical haircrack running upwards from the bottom of the top portion of the vase for about 3 inches on the floral panel side of the vase, both of which have been well restored and could have been caused by pressure of tightening the bolt. The plinth of the same vase has a very fine haircrack running diagonally across one side and extending partially into the adjacent side. The other vase has several similar very fine haircracks running upwards from the bottom of the upper portion of the vase and extending several inches onto the panels on either side; they are probably stress-related and are very well restored.
