Catalogue Note

Artist's Inscriptions:
(1) In the blurry billowing mist, a lone scull; westerly winds and barren trees over the Five Lakes in autumn. To be the companion of seagulls and egrets is superior to being a king or prince. Why mind that the sea bass has not bit the bait? Painted for Mr. Huanyuan's instruction. Sixth month of the wuwu year (1918). Tang Di.
(2) Elder brother Ruitang asked me to paint this. Dingzhi Tang Di, renwu (1922) winter night.
