Dense leaves against the winds and rains, high branches hide the sun and stars. Guimao year, summer, the sixth lunar month, the disciple Ms. An He has come to visit me, and I happily make this painting for her. Xinyu.
Note:
An He was born in Beijing in 1927 and became a disciple of Pu Ru in 1946, following him diligently after move to Taiwan. Pu Ru was particular fond of An He. Apart from painting, he also trained her in lyrics, calligraphy, and other forms of learning. Their relationship lasting seventeen years. Lot 688 is also from An He's collection.
