Wu Zheng: Pine in the wind in a precipitous valley. In autumn in the ninth month of the jimao year (1939), Baoxuan jushi Wu Zheng.
Yuan Kewen: Last night, in the searing wind and heavy rain, by turns I was drenched and cold. With the arrival of autumn I find my emotions stirred. My old warm clothes I make ready again. I relive memories and reflect on them. Whether happy or sad, they all preoccupy me. Huanshang Yuan Kewen.
