Catalogue Note

Artist's inscription:
Cypress and Ganoderma. I gaze toward the jade garden, like a city of hibiscus. The cool fragrance of many blossoms makes splendid the jade stems. Their great harmony is not withered, a crimson snowfall overflowing. How is it these grasses are like jade, as if waiting for the dragon to till them.  The western pool has peaks to the south, the origin of its double success. The crowd truly feasts tonight, and how the feathers create a rainbow. A young phoenix dances in time to the jade luan bird's peaceful cry. The jade bi disk turns heavily, while the Yellow river becomes clear. Golden fungi burst into bloom, and jade trees mark the clouds. The divine concubine floats along rosy clouds, offering a thousand year elixir. An ode written by Furongxi Waishi, Shouping.
