the straight sides rising from three globular metal feet to an everted barbed rim, brightly painted to the interior with ladies and children amongst elaborate pavilions in a garden by a lotus pond, the well with dragons and carp leaping from cresting waves, encircled at the rim with shaped cartouches enclosing fruiting and flowering sprays reserved on a ground of floral scrolls, the exterior and base decorated with stylised kui dragon scrolls and medallions
Condition
There is restoration to several area to the interior of this basin, including a 1cm wide band around three quarters of the everted rim from the interior edge; several small areas to the lobed rim; a large area to the interior base to the upper right, left and lower right sections. There is an approximately 4cm wide band of restoration to the base of the well covering around nearly the top half of the basin. There is also corresponding areas of restoration to these areas of the exterior. There are a number of stress cracks to the enamel to the interior and exterior of the piece.
