Description

  • gilt-bronze cloisonne
of archaic bronze form, brightly enamelled to the bulbous middle section with stylised taotie masks divided by raised flanges, the trumpet neck and the spreading foot with lotus sprays interspersed with elongated lappets enclosing scrollwork and animal masks, the wide flaring rim decorated to the interior with further lotus scrolls below pendent ruyi lappets

Condition

This vase is in generally good condition, but there is a slight discolouration to the turquoise ground to the lower area of the interior rim. There is numerous burst bubbles to the enamel throughout.
