Description

the shallow sides rising from a straight foot to a flaring rim, incised to the interior with a medallion enclosing a five-clawed dragon in pursuit of a flaming pearl, surrounded by two striding dragons chasing flaming pearls, the decoration repeated to the exterior above a lotus lappet band, covered overall in a brilliant aubergine glaze stopping above the footrim, the white base inscribed with a six-character Kangxi mark within a double-circle

Condition
There are several chips to the footring, the largest measuring 2 x 0.3cm. The central interior has a tiny glaze chip (0.1 x 0.1cm). Apart from other minor glaze firing imperfections, the dish is in very good condition.
