Description

each baluster body rising from a spreading foot to a tall trumpet neck and everted rim, painted around the exterior in rich cobalt-blue tones with four arch-shaped panels enclosing birds perched on fruiting and flowering bushes issuing from rockwork, all between moulded and painted lotus-lappet bands at the base and collar, the neck similarly painted with panels between a ribbed chevron and a moulded lappet band, the interior of the rim with a geometric floret band, the base with a ruyi spray within double circles
Condition
The pair of vases are in very good condition with the exception of characteristic frits to the rim and two shallow glaze flakes to the edge of the rim of one, minor glaze firing imperfections including glaze pinhols and very light and minor glaze scratches.
