the rounded sides rising from a straight foot to a flared rim, the interior painted with a central medallion enclosing two dragons contesting a flaming pearl amongst clouds, surrounded by four detached lingzhi sprays with radiating leafy tendrils, the exterior with four jardinières of pomegranates between bands of beribboned precious objects and lotus scrolls, inscribed with a six-character Wanli mark within a double-circle, Japanese wood box

Condition
The bowl has an area of restoration to the rim, measuring approximately 60mm and extending to the lower line border to the interior of the rim, visible under UV light at approximately 2 o'clock in the catalogue illustration. Some glaze firing imperfections including two 3mm., diam areas of kiln grit to the interior (visible at 4 and 7 o'clock in the catalogue illustration) and two glaze pinholes to the interior and exterior and minor glaze scratches.
