Description

  • Lacquered wood
of rectangular form, raised on four legs joined by a shaped apron and terminating in hoof feet, decorated to the upper surface with a central rectangular panel enclosing a landscape with pavilions, flanked by a pair of lobed cartouches with bird and flowers, all reserved on a diaper ground and encircled by shaped floral cartouches against a diaper band, the feet and apron with stylised foliate scrolls

Condition

The table is in fair condition with the exception or repair to cracking at the joins with the top of the leg and the top frame with associated nibbles and loss of lacquer, slight fading and rubbing to the top surface, a 13 and 7cm., section of rubbing and loss to the outside edge of one leg, small flakes to the edge of one leg, loss to the end of one upright spandrel, a 16cm., L-shaped age crack, a 20cm., four-pointed age crack and a 10cm., three-pointed age crack to the top surface, minor flaking and nibbles to the lacquer and rubbing to the gilding.
