Description

  • wood inlaid with soapstone, mounted with textile
each decorated with narrative depictions of figures amongst garden landscapes and pavilions, the outer panel concealing erotic scenes of figures engaged in amorous pursuits

Condition

The panels are in very good overall condition with the exception of 2x1cm., section of loss to the soapstone inlay depicting a carpet on one interior, a 1.5 x 0.5cm., section of loss to the soapstone inlay depicting a pavillion wall on another, light rubbing scratching and staining to the painted surfaces, minor hairline cracks to the soapstone and light wear and rubbing to the silk-edged frames.
