the animal standing four square with head turned sharply backwards and its trunk tightly curled, its back supporting two crouching boys holding a bucket and a brush, the stone of a greyish celadon tone mottled with milky-white inclusions

Condition

The carving is in very good condition with the eexception of a small area of polish to the edge of the animals rear foot. It should be noted that the stone is of a slightly darker celadon tone than the catalogue illustration would suggest.
