the rounded baluster body raised on a high straight foot, divided into three sections by plain low relief bands, repeated around the slightly flared mouth, set with a pair of well-cast taotie masks suspending large ring handles, lightly encrusted green patination over brown surface with generous traces of gilt, Japanese wood box (2)

This vessel is skillfully restored and the X-ray reveals extensive repairs to the rim, neck, body and foot.
