painted to each side with a dragon and phoenix amidst peony blossoms and leafy branches around a central raised boss with a 'flaming pearl', the spreading foot and sides decorated with similar peony scrolls below ruyi suspending tassels, the cylindrical neck flanked by dragon-scroll handles, seal mark in underglaze blue

Condition

The neck and handles have been restored with some overpainting, and it is not possible to see the extent of the damage under the restoration. There are scattered burst bubbles and minor surface scratches, and a glazed over firing fault on the foot.
