of rectangular form, carved in low relief with well carved overhanging pine trees with knotty trunks and dense foliage, with ridged rockwork below, the russet inclusions skillfully incorporated into the composition, wood frame and stand (2)

Acquired in Japan between 1947 and 1952, and thence by descent.
Condition
There are small nicks around the edge of the jade plaque. There is a diagonal fissureand a trail of small nicks to the back of the plaque.
