of faceted lozenge shape with a flanged convex center carved in low relief on front and back with a dissembled taotie mask surmounted by a row of upright blades enclosing hook and scroll motif below the stepped rim, set with a pair of horn-like handles on either side, all resting on a high splayed and stepped base, the stone of a pale gray color with fine dark gray veining
Condition
There is a minute nick to the mouth rim, apart from that, the vase is in good condition. Compared to the image in the catalogue, the actual vase is more gray in color.
