Acquired in Japan between 1947 and 1952 and thence by descent.

The condition of the washer is good with only minor wear to the enamel on the rim.

Coral glazed washers are very rare.  A coral-glazed, coral-form Qianlong dated washer of smaller size was sold at Christie's New York, 19th March 2008, lot 660.
