cast seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus pedestal with beaded rims, the left hand in dhyanamudra, the right in bhumisparsamudra, dressed in a high-waisted undergarment and flowing robe that leaves the right shoulder bare, the narrow face with downcast eyes flanked by long pierced earlobes, a raised urna between the brows, the hair in tight curls pulled over the ushnisha and topped with a jewel

Provenance

Acquired in China in the 1960s, and thence by descent.

Condition

There is a dent to the figure''s chin, and numerous small dents and knocks to the figure''s back, arms and left knee. There are also small dents to the edges of his robe, left thumb, ears, the bottom edge of the pedestal and some of the lotus petals. There is some light wear to the gilding. The base plate is missing. the base is slightly uneven.
