- bronze and enamel
of rectangular form with rounded corners, decorated overall with a formal design of red, yellow and blue lotus flowers on tightly curled leafy stems, on a turquoise ground (2)
Provenance
Collection of Dr. Richard and Mrs. Mary Eckhardt, acquired in Japan between 1947-1952 while Dr. Eckhardt was serving as a surgeon in the United States Army and thence by descent.
Condition
There is some wear to the gilding on the interior and small areas of loss and infill to the turquoise enamel. Otherwise in good condition.
