  • bronze and enamel
of shallow form with flat rim, the interior decorated with a pair of makara surrounded by precious objects and jewels against a dense cloud ground, all within bands of ruyi heads, leaves and clouds and lingzhi with scrolling foliage, the base centered with a floret surrounded by clouds enclosed by a floral scroll and a classic scroll

Condition

There is the expected pitting to the enamels consistent with age, and a minor irregularity in the rim where the line of the bronze intrudes slightly into the decoration. There are a few small areas of fill in the turquoise enamel.
