of bombé-shape, flanked by elephant-shaped loop handles, the body decorated with archaistic scroll and a shou roundel on each side between two bands of alternating gold and silver archaic shou characters, repeated on the neck, the lipped rim encircled with geometric and wave patterns, the base with mark Shisou

Condition

One elephant handle is missing its ear and a tusk. The other handle is missing a tusk and the remaining tusk is broken in half. There is wear to the gilding and the silver is tarnished. There are a few chips to the mouth rim, and general wear which is consistent with its age and use.
