  • Bronze
portrayed seated in dhyanasana on a lotus throne with left hand in dhyanamudra and right hand in bhumisparsamudra recalling the moment of enlightenment, dressed in loosely draped robes with chased floral borders, the broad face with serene expression framed by long earlobes and tight whorls of hair covering the ushnisha

Christie's London, 16th April 1985, lot 303.

Condition

There are scattered scratches and casting flaws particularly noticeable on the right shoulder, the right side of the chest, the forehead and left forearm. There are two small holes to the chest and waist and two small holes to the left leg. There is a chip to the tip of one lotus petal. Traces of pigment accumulated in the crevices and lacquer around the base.
