each portrayed seated in dhayanasana on a lotus throne, wearing loosely draped robes that open at the chest to reveal beaded necklaces, crowned with an elaborate headdress fronting a backswept topknot, the remaining knot-tied tresses gently falling over the shoulders, one figure holding a scroll in the right hand, the left hand held in suchimudra, the other figure with left hand held at chest level, right hand in akashamudra (2)
Condition
Both figures with several visible splits and cracks, and traces of pigment and gilt. The figure to the right of the catalogue illustration has a chip to the right sleeve, missing a small section to the diadem and two finger tips of the right hand. There is possible restoration to the long knotted dangling tresses. The figure is also missing two sections of its plinth at the back. The other figure to the left of the catalogue illustration is missing an attribute in its left hand, has chips to the diadem and possible restoration to the hair.
