Description
- porcelain
of baluster form, decorated in rich inky underglaze-blue with a wide frieze of playful boys interspersed with scrolling lotus blooms borne on undulating stems, above a band of lappets and below a ruyi border, the fitted cover with further ruyi and a pointed knop, apocryphal Jiajing mark (2)

Condition
There are three short hairline cracks and several small restored chips and frits to the mouth rim of the jar. The body has a sesame seed sized glaze gap and a number of smaller pinprick glaze gaps. The cover is slightly overfired and with chips to the inner rim, and glaze gaps along its edge. There are minor iron spots scattered throughout.
