painted on the exterior with a pair of monkeys playing in a peach tree, a pair of deer grazing and a pair of birds perched on branches, all in a continuous landscape, with a recumbent horse lying in grass within a circular medallion in the center of the interior, wood stand (2)

Provenance

Collection of Dr. Richard and Mrs. Mary Eckhardt, acquired in Japan between 1947-1952 while Dr. Eckhardt was serving as a surgeon in the United States Army and thence by descent.

Condition

There are two very small chips to the rim of the bowl, and scattered burst glaze bubbles and pin pricks to the interior. There are a few very small firing cracks to the underside of the base.
