the interior carved with a floral medallion below a foliate scroll decorating the well, the everted rim applied with eight prunus blossoms reserved in the biscuit and fired burnt-orange against the pale olive-green glaze continuing onto the exterior and over the foot ring, leaving an unglazed burnt-orange ring on the base
Provenance
Acquired in Cuba in 1965, and thence by descent.
Condition
The footring has been repaired and overpainted approx 1/3 of the way around. There are chips to three of the prunus blossoms around the rim. The glaze is degraded and there is some evidence of overfiring on the exterior. There is extensive surface wear and abrasion to the glaze on the interior and exterior.
