of compressed oval shape with a pair of mock lion mask-ring handles on the shoulders, the body decorated in lacquer, malachite, soapstone, mother-of-pearl, ivory and other hardstones, to form a continuous scene of three boys gathered around a large pearl issuing a palace borne on clouds, being approached by three more boys carrying various items, the details rendered in gilt-lacquer, apocryphal four-character incised Qianlong seal mark in a line
Condition
A piece of inlay is missing from one of the shoulders, and another from behind the boy in the green vest, a small section of the flag pole and the hand of one boy. There is a shallow chip on the neck and a small polished chip on the outer mouth rim, there are some minute nicks to the mock ring handles and the inner foot ring. There is also some very minor surface wear.
