of compressed globular form, the rounded sides carved with taotie masks below a leiwen border, with two upright, pierced and everted flange handles, all raised on three lion-mask cabriole legs terminating in paw feet, the domed, fitted cover  carved with interlocking 'C'-scrolls and an openwork foliate band around the high relief, dragon-form knop, ivory stand (3)

Condition

Both handles are replacements with some minor nicks along their edges, and one handle has been broken and repaired. Two of the feet are later replacements. There are minor nicks to the inside and outside rim and fissures in the base.
