the elongated box with a hinged cover, with ruyi-shaped and rectangular brass mounts, a circular lockplate and ruyi-head clasp
Provenance
Collection of George Willets Davison (1871-1953), thence by descent and gifted to the present owner.
Condition
The top of the box with a consolidated split and one loose mount. There is an approximately 1 inch long break to the inner rim and a consolidated split along the base and two partial splits. The surface with expected wear and some staining. The wood of nice varied honey color.
