the chair of ruyi outline, the shaped backrest inset with a large rectangular 'dreamstone' panel and with openwork carving along the crestrail, sides and curved armrests with archaistic angular scrolls, conforming to the ruyi seat, the shaped apron with further scrolls supported on four cabriole legs with scrolls at the knee and terminating in ruyi-form feet joined by four stretchers, the underside with three transverse stretchers
Condition
The seat panel has been replaced, there are repaired splits to front and small triangular breaks to each armrest at the join with back rest. One armrest with repairs to two of the angular scrolls. There are two repaired splits at the seat frame at join to supporting backrest. One apron and two stretchers are patched at join to supporting bracket. There are repaired breaks to the inside of each front leg at join to seat frame. There are chips to the feet and water stains along the seat frame and some shrinkage.
