of rectangular form, attractively grained, with two trays stacked above one another, the upper containing an additional fitted shallow tray, below a conforming fitted cover, all set on a base frame flanked by standing ruyi-form spandrels, joined at the top with an arched handle, the cover with corner ruyi head mounts, the edges all reinforced by metal mounts (5)
Condition
The pin that secures the trays and cover to the frame is missing. There is some separation of the top of the cover from one of the short sides. There is some shrinkage of the bottom panel in all trays. There is a small section along the inner edge of the bottom of the frame near the corner that has been shallowly polished, and two old chips. There are some chips along the bottom of the frame's stretcher bars and along the top outer corner. There are a few minute nicksand chips to the edges of the trays.
