the rectangular box with a circular lockplate and ruyi-shaped clasp, opening to a shallow tray above two small and one long drawers, the sides set with rectangular bail handles, the base carved with a scroll design

Condition
There is an approximately 2 1/2 inch chip to the front edge of the top panel and a short diagonal split near the back hinge. The hinges securing the cover to the box are loose. One of the side panels has a horizontal crack straight across and the handle is replaced. The other side panel with patched and consolidated split approximately 2 inches long. There are two repaired partial splits to the interior top panel and one of the back corners has separated and been consolidated with glue. One of the top drawers is missing its metal pull; both upper drawers may possibly be replacements.
