the interior finely incised with a circular medallion of a pair of cranes standing amidst rockwork and lingzhi beneath an overhanging pine tree, the exterior with wufu swooping down among cloud scrolls, all under a brilliant green glaze pooling to a darker tone to highlight the design, six-character mark in underglaze blue within a double circle

Condition
There is a short hairline crack to the rim. Another crack approx 3 inch (7.7cm) around the well, just above the foot. Slight wear to the interior, the rim is slightly warped.

Catalogue Note
The design on the dish is rare and no other example appears to have been published with a green glaze, although one with a yellow glaze was sold in our Hong Kong rooms, 17th May 1988, lot 77. Another with yellow glaze is illustrated in Imperial Perfection, The Palace Porcelain of the Three Chinese Emperors, A Selection from the Wang Xing Lou Collection, Hong Kong, 2004, p.236, no. 93.
