the smaller with a shield to the lid, bearing two letters above a six pointed star, cast with a knight astride a galloping horse, within a circular border inscribed: DVDONIS MILITI DE BVSCVTO...S to the interior; the larger cast with a double headed eagle to the interior

Condition

Overall the condition of the smaller flagon is good with dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age and handling. The lid does not fit snugly. There is wear to the surface of the larger flagon throughout. There are casting flaws and plugs throughout and a number of fissures, including at both handle joints. The lid does not fit snugly.
