Description
- Relief with the Flagellation
- partially polychromed alabaster
inscribed in ink: No 36. with a yellow paper label inscribed ink: Sb / 45 / alabast

Condition
There is wear to the polychromy throughout. There are chips and scratches throughout, particularly to the edges. There are a number of losses, including to the ropes binding Christ's hand, to Christ's beard, to the handle of the whip held by the top right flagellator, to the noses of each of the flagellators and to the ground. The proper left arm of the flagellator in the right hand corner is lost and was once repaired. The handle of the top left flagellator's wrist is missing and was once restored. There are several holes in the back to afix the relief to a wall/ frame. The lower section at the back has been hollowed out. Some of the faces may have been recarved.
